Given the uncritical thoughtless idolitry harbored by some American for President Obama, these comparisons outdo them in absurdity.  First of all &quot;diversity&quot; is not a human virtue - it&#039;s the reflection on a collection of humans who happen to look different, which isn&#039;t something intellectual in nature and informs nothing.

Second of all, Germans don&#039;t need &quot;an Obama&quot;.  They need what the rest of humanity needs, which is honest, accountable elected officials who address a society&#039;s needs in a way that a society accepts, and ISN&#039;T idolized like a nacent tin pot dictator.

The other thing which seem sicker still is this simplistic desire in European society to find a &quot;world leader&quot; as in a &quot;leader for the world&quot;, which smack of servility and fear on the part of the public, and a hope that all debates will be between two people who agree with each other.</description>
